What To Do In The UK – August
With summer in full swing this month,
make sure you spend some time out and about before the weather starts to cool
down again. Whether you’re into sports, music, or good food and drinks, you’ll
find something to enjoy this month.
1st August – Carnaval del
Pueblo, Elephant and Castle, London
Brazilian flair comes to London this
Sunday, with this annual South American carnival in Burgess Park, near Elephant
and Castle. The carnival features a number of themed stages, including a
children stage, with performances aimed at the young ones. View the Salsa Dance
Championships and vote for your favourites to win. Of course, no carnival is complete
without tasty food – enjoy a variety of South American favourites from the
various stalls on site.
12th – 15th August
– Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, Bristol
You won’t see the standard
helium-filled balloons here, but rather, colourful hot-air balloons. Visitors
will be able to enjoy rides in these spectacular balloons, as well as enjoy the
sight of the Nightglow, where over 30 balloons glow in time to music.
29th – 30th
August – Mathew Street Festival, Liverpool
Liverpool is renowned as a highly
musical city, and this annual free festival celebrates the city’s love for
music. 95 bands from all over the world will perform on its six outdoor stages.
Delicious food and drink can be bought from the city’s well-known collection of
restaurants, cafes and pubs.
