Hotels Wildner & Cristallo Venice Italy Europe
The Wildner Pension forms a tranquil and familiar spot in the centre of Venice, with view over the lagoon and only few steps from St. Mark’s Square. Hotel cristallo is in Venice Lido
Hotel Pensione Wildner takes pride of its exceptionally beautiful position in the historical centre of Venice, surrounded by the elegant architecture that also acts as backdrop to St. Mark’s Basin and facing the Riva degli Schiavoni promenade.
Enviably located at just 100 metres from St. Mark’s Square and not far from public transport to and from the airport, the railway station, the car parks of Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto, the port and the islands of the lagoon, Pensione Wildner is the ideal starting point to discover the city, delve into its most celebrated places and monuments, venture into its most hidden corners and reveal their fascination, history and peacefulness.
Our reliability and unfailingly warm welcome, and the discreet charm of the place recall the ancient origins of this hotel, the typical atmospheres of the ancient inns that, in the 19th Century, used to host travellers and artists. In an endeavour to keep up with the modern traveller, our hotel ensures every modern comfort while maintaining unaltered the customary care and attention for our guests.
Still today you can feel the fascination of the days in which writers like the American Henry James or the German Joseph Viktor von Scheffel used to live here and draw inspiration from it. From the flower-filled windows of the rooms directly facing the lagoon you can admire a unique view over the superb architecture of the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the striking baroque outlines of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, the fine marble of the Ducal Palace: a view that is itself reason enough to book a stay in the Pensione Wildner.
OUR ROOMS
Open year-round, the hotel offers a variety of different arrangements: from the romantic rooms facing the lagoon with their original antique furniture that are ideal for special occasions or for guests who do not want to miss the unforgettable memories of a view that changes in colour and tone as the day goes by, to the more discreet and practical comfort of the rooms facing San Zaccaria Church and, finally, our friendly family rooms. Our staff is always available to help our guests by providing information or suggestions for your visit to the city, to explore the less-known areas, to book tours and trips out, tickets for concerts or anything you may need for your journey.
Our 16 rooms are distributed over four floors and are all air conditioned/heated; they all have satellite TV, telephone, safe, en-suite bathrooms with shower and hair-dryer.
For all our guests, whatever the season, breakfast brings the cosy atmosphere of a buffet served in the beautiful veranda on the ground floor facing the Riva and providing an enchanting view over the Island of San Giorgio and a rich selection of both sweet and savoury options.
Restaurant – Wine Bar
Facing Riva degli Schiavoni, from the restaurant veranda you can enjoy the scenery with Isola di San Giorgio acting as backdrop and providing an extra romantic touch in the evening when you can dine by candlelight.
Managed with professional care and passion since its establishment in 1960, the restaurant suggests and gives a fresh reinterpretation of Venice’s traditional cuisine, combining select fresh ingredients – like the fish that is selected in the local fish market, the DOP registered cured meat from Langhirano and the rare cheeses that are chosen by the restaurant’s expert, Mr. De Pieri of Treviso.
The wine list offers a broad selection of important national labels that range from internationally known brands to lesser known local wines that provide excellent quality for their price.
Luca Fullin, backed by his experience at Harry’s Bar in Venice and in the prestigious Capital Hotel restaurant in London, manages the restaurant enthusiastically and scrupulously, adding innovation and creativity while preserving the family tradition.
Between tradition and modernity, the familiar welcome and impeccable service contribute to our success, a passion that inevitably includes the joys of the palate.
The highlights of the menu include the specialties of always that are also the traditional favourites, including Baccalà Mantecato (buttery salt cod), Scampi in Saor (sweet and sour scampi), Tuna Tartar, the Chef’s Risotti, Curried scampi and grilled and oven-baked fish.
